The Beginning of a Pacific Northwest Tradition

The Seahawks 12K Run was established in order to give fans a unique way to enjoy their passion for the Seahawks while also participating in an active lifestyle.

The Seahawks 12K Run began as a community run and has since become a well known and very successful annual event drawing participants from all over Washington State and other areas outside of Washington State. The combination of a beautiful and challenging course, family oriented events and Seahawks theme festivities made this race appealing to both experienced runners and those running in the 12k for the first time.

Every year the race provided an opportunity for many people from different backgrounds to come together and share in a fun inspirational day with their families and friends, along with thousands of fellow Seahawks fans.

More Than a Race

Challenging runners with a scenic course throughout Renton, the signature 12k race gave runners ample opportunities to showcase their running skills. For those looking for an easier run or walk – and regardless of their fitness level, the Seahawks 12K Run also included a 5k run/walk. Additionally, kids were able to participate in the kids’ run portion of the event – allowing families to enjoy the entire event together.

In addition to participating in one of the three runs available; there were many things to do (and see) during the Seahawks 12K Run including:

  • Live entertainment
  • Sponsor activations
  • Community exhibits
  • Giveaways and prizes
  • Family activities
  • Post race celebrations
  • Seahawks themed experiences

Overall, Seahawks 12K Run created an atmosphere on race day that no other regional running event could compare to.

A Commitment to Community

Seattle Seahawks’ 12K Run was a way to honor the contributions and work of the local community, through charitable initiatives/programs to support the people of Seattle. Partnering with local organizations/volunteers/sponsors/community leaders created opportunities to positively impact the lives of both race participants and all of those who live/work within the larger community.

The Seahawks Fan Experience

In many ways, one of the biggest parts of the Seattle Seahawks’ 12K run was bringing together Seahawks fans as one via this amazing fan experience. This embodied exactly what makes Seahawks fans so unique throughout the entire Pacific Northwest – their enthusiasm/proudness and sense of unity/belonging.
