Who is the event beneficiary?

This year the Seahawks 12K Run at The Landing will collect donations on behalf of and help raise money for A Better Seattle – Led by head coach Pete Carroll & the Seattle Seahawks.

A Better Seattle is a community-wide campaign to raise awareness and funds to hire and deploy professionally trained street outreach workers in Seattle and South King County in partnership with the YMCA of Greater Seattle and local municipalities. The Seattle Seahawks are committed to the community and support Coach Carroll’s vision for A Better Seattle to make a long-term impact for our youth.  A Better Seattle is designed to help further develop partnerships between corporations, law enforcement and community groups to build healthy communities and reduce youth violence.

 

Is there a cap on the race?

Yes. Due to space and parking limitations, we are forced to cap the race at 10,000 participants.

Is there a cap on the NFL Play 60 Kids Run?

No - The NFL Play 60 Kids Run will NOT have a cap and Kids Run registration will be available all the way through the day of the event.

PARKING INSTRUCTIONS

Access from I-405 To ALL Parking Lots
Exit 2 – Rainier Ave – NB on Rainier Ave, East on Airport Way (Airport turns into Logan)
Exit 4 – West on N. 4th to Park/Logan
Exit 5 – West on NE Park Dr

Gene Coulon Park Stalls are accessible by turning north on Lake Washington Blvd from NE Park St

ALL OTHER LOTS are accessible from NE Park Dr and/or Logan Ave N

PLEASE NOTE: Traffic will be very congested. Please consider taking different routes to help save time and backups getting off I-405 to the designated lots.

PARKING LOT RESTRICTIONS

*LOT 2 - The Landing Parking Structure – NE Park Dr / N 10th St

- Accessible until 8:30AM from NE Park Dr/ NE 10th St – Event Attendees WILL NOT be able to leave garage until last participant passes at 9:45AM

*LOT 3* - The Landing – Dick’s – Park Ave N / N Landing Way

- Parking available until 8:00AM – Participants are not allowed to leave lot 3 until 9:45AM or during Kids’ Race between 10:45AM – 11:15AM

*LOT 4* - Target Parking – Park Ave N / N Landing Way

- Accessible until 8:30AM from Park Ave N/N Landing Way – Vehicles not permitted to leave until 10:00AM

 

Will Gear Check be available?

Yes – Gear can be checked at the Start/Finish area up until the start of each race. Items will only be accepted in the bags provided by the event and only checked for participants with a valid 2015 Seahawks 12K Run bib. The Seahawks 12K Run race crew reserves the right to refuse gear check to any participants. Please leave all valuables in your car, the Seahawks 12K Run will not be responsible for any “gear” checked including wallets, keys, cell phones, iPods, etc. Thank you for understanding.

 

Are dogs or baby strollers allowed on the course?

Participants running or walking with either a stroller or a leashed dog will be required to queue up toward the rear of the field to prevent potential incidents and minimize congestion near the crowded start line. Please be respectful to passing runners and walkers and remember to stay to the right along the route.

 

Can I walk the races?

In an effort to minimize our impact on residences and businesses along Lake Washington Boulevard, all participants are required to maintain a 15 minute mile or faster for the 12K Run. Walkers and all runners are encouraged to participate in the GLOW 5K Run/Walk.

 

Where and when can I pick up my race packet?

Registered participants can pick up their shirts, bibs and timing chips at the Pre-Race Packet Pick-up event at Dick’s Sporting Goods at The Landing on Saturday, April 18th from 9:00am-5:00pm or on Race Day at the Event Registration tent from 6:30-8:45am at the Start/Finish area located at 715 N Landing Way in Renton.

 

Can I register on-site on Race Day?

Seahawks Play60 Kids Run registration will be available at the Dick’s Sport Goods Packet Pick-up Event and on Race day until 10:30am, 15 minutes before the start of the Kids Run at 10:45am. The registration fee is $10 for kids 10 & younger and includes a race bib, kids t-shirt and finisher’s ribbon.

 

Can I participate in the Kids Run with my child?

Yes. You may participate with your child in the Kids Run if they are too young to run without you’re help.

 

Are headphones allowed?

While the event does not encourage the use of headphones during the race due to safety concerns, we do not prohibit participants from using them.

 

Will there be awards?

Yes, there will be awards offered for the top 3 male overall and top 3 female overall finishers in both the Seahawks 12K Run and the GLOW 5K Run/Walk.

 

Is there a time limit on finishing the event?

Participants are required to maintain at least a 15 minute per mile pace for the 12K and a 20 minute per mile pace for the 5K in an effort minimize the event’s impact on the surrounding community due to required street closure.
